High winds through the area of February 28-29 forced township to shutter the facility
The township of North Glengarry has closed the sports dome in Alexandria due to damage sustained during last week’s high winds.
On Wednesday February 28, 2024 the Tim Hortons Dome was affected by the wind storm. Experts are in the process of examining the Dome for damage caused by the extremely high winds. At this time the Dome is closed to the public until further notice. The Township will be issuing regular updates to keep users informed on the reopening date. We thank you for your patience during this time.

At this time, there has been no further update on when the dome will reopen to the many users, including walkers who enjoy the rubberized track and pickleball players.
Another group affected is the Glengarry Soccer League, whose indoor season wraps up this month. Scheduled games have been postponed, including some playoff action.
The GSL’s senior divisions are slated to kick off playoffs this week. In the senior men’s group, one-game semis are booked for Thursday evening. The senior women are scheduled to wrap up their regular-season play tomorrow evening before playoffs next week.
