Cornwall Motor Speedway results from July 23
Donovan Lussier wins Race for the Cure Sportsman feature, Corey Wheeler tops field in the Modifieds feature, and Lee Ladouceur trumps in Action Sprint Tour feature
A sultry night of racing on the dirt oval at the Cornwall Motor Speedway last Sunday night saw Donovan Lussier, of St. Denis, Quebec, win the Race for the Cure Sportsman 50-lap feature of 32 entrants, ahead of .
Tyler Givogue led the way at the green flag, with Cedric Gauvreau and David Rogers rounding out the top three drivers. On lap 8, Givogue found himself caught in traffic. Bobby Herrington siezed third spot on lap 10 before the yellow caution flag came out. At the resumption of racing, Herrington moved into second as another yellow was issued. Givogue remained in command ahead of Herrington and Rogers, who was now running third.
During a restart on lap 15, William Racine moved up from fourth place to challenge Givogue for the lead. Yellow returned on lap 22. The race continued to see a good battle for the first between Givogue and Racine. On the 26th lap, the race was slowed again. Upon the return to full speed, Racine surprised Givogue on the outer edge of the circuit. Gabriel Cyr moved into second, followed by Lussier.
An accident occurred on the front stretch involving Racine was involved, who lost his lead with 16 laps to go, allowing Cyr to hold top spot in front of Lussier and Fire Swamp. However, Herrington soon managed to regain third position, bumping Swamp to fourth. With 9 laps to go, Lussier used the outside lane to grab first place, holding onto the position for the remaining laps to claim his first victory in Cornwall.

Action Sprint Tour 25-lap feature
In the Action Sprint Tour finale, Mathieu Bardier began the race holding the lead ahead of Jeffrey Weare and Lee Ladouceur. Weare took advantage of a slower car to pass Bardier on lap 4. Weare remained fast but soon connected with another car, doing a 360 and forcing the yellow caution on lap 12.
Bardier then took the lead in front of Ladouceur, who hails from Alexandria. Traffic became a factor in the final stretch of the race, and Ladouceur capitalized, passing Bardier on the last lap to take the checkered flag.
