Glengarry Golf Club crowns its 2023 club champion
Ricky Latreille claims title 30 years to the day of his first win
The Glengarry Golf and Country Club has its 2023 club champion, as Ricky Latreille claimed the title over the weekend in the two-day competition.

Twenty-four golfers took to the course in Alexandria to compete in the two-day, 36-hole total strokes event, which featured four divisions.
Snagging top spot in the senior division was Denis Barsalo who shot a two-day total of 174. In second place was Brian Lafleur at 178.
In the C flight, John MacSweyn scored first place with his effort of 169. In second, by retrogression, was Jean Marc Titley (177), and in third was Mike Lesyk (177).
The B flight winner was Paul Villeneuve whose two-day total was 168. He won by way of retrogression. Also with a score of 168 but placing second was Luc Poirier, while Dave Montone finished third (169).
Ricky Latreille’s win came in the the A flight and garnered him the 2023 club championship with a two-day score of 145. Ben Lowe, who won the previous weekend’s tournament, the Alexandria Open (see story here), placed second in the club championship battle on 150 strokes, while Felix Sauve ended up third with his 152 shot effort.
Club captain Jean Marc Titley adds that in “a strange twist of events I was informed that Ricky had won the club championship 30 years ago to the day (August 20, 1993).”
