Lowe swings low for Alexandria golf club championship
Glengarry Golf and Country Club hosts two-day competition
The Glengarry Golf and Country Club, in Alexandria, held its club championship over the weekend, with local university athlete and GDHS graduate Ben Lowe snagging the trophy.
The two-day competition featured a field of 20 golfers.
Ray Banister won the senior division with a total score of 180 (88+92) from the August 27-28 event.
In the ‘C’ flight, Mike Lesyk was the victor with a two-day total of 175 (86+89). Second place was claimed by Marc Rolland whose score was 179 (94+85).
Jean-Marc Titley topped the ‘B’ flight on a total of 166 (79+87). Just one shot behind was Denis Barsalo (82+85).
Ben Lowe triumphed in the ‘A’ flight to take the trophy and title as 2022 club champion. He shot a round of 77 on day one, following that up with a second-day score of 79. Felix Sauve claimed second place on rounds of 80 and 77.
The golf course’s club captain, Jean-Marc Titley, tells me, that overall scores on the two days were tight. He expresses his thanks to everyone who came out and participated.
