Ricky Latreille claims 2023 title at the Glengarry Open
Members-only tournament saw 38 golfers take to the links
The Glengarry Open was held on Sunday at the Glengarry Golf and Country Club in Alexandria, with playing conditions very hot and sunny, as 38 members battled it out on the fairways and greens.
As a members-only event, the field was very competitive, club captain Jean-Marc Titley tells me. The return of the tournament, the first time it was held in the last four years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, was a highly anticipated competition.
After all the dust had settled and putts drained, Ricky Latreille, with a score of 69 on low gross, was declared the 2023 Glengarry Open Champion.
Finishing second on low gross score was Ben Lowe at 72 and third was Jean Theoret just a stroke behind.
The top three in low net (gross score minus handicap) were also recognized. Michel Lefebvre won with a 68, with Max Brunet second (69). Third place was a tie, at 70 strokes, for Nathaniel MacMillan and Dick Sauve.

In other news from the golf club, Glengarry’s Senior Men’s Intersectional qualifier was held on this same weekend.
Paul Villeneuve emerged as the overall leader, scoring 30 points (78)
Up next, the team will travel to Deep River to compete, at the end of August.
