Senior A hockey Glengarry Pipers announce 2023-24 training camp, new signing
Dunvegan's Liam MacDonald set to join Alexandria-based club in the EOSHL
The Glengarry Pipers of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (senior A) have announced their 2023-24 training camp. Sessions will be held on August 27 and September 3 at the Sports Palace in Alexandria, the team’s home base. Both days will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The cost for non-roster players is $20 per session, and interested players should email the team at glengarrypipersgm@gmail.com
The Pipers are one of 15 teams set to play in the upcoming season of the EOSHL.
The newest member of the roster is Dunvegan’s Liam MacDonald who played his junior hockey with the Char-Lan Rebels of the EOJHL (junior B). The now 23-year-old forward skated in 37 games with the Rebs in the 2019-20 season, recording 37 points and 115 penalty minutes.
MacDonald will be counted on for his “offensive creativity” noted the Pipers in their signing announcement.
The club also has announced that captain Miguel Poissant is returning for a third year with the Pipers. The 34-year-old from Ste. Catherine, Quebec, “loves to play physical hockey and bring a lot of energy on and off the ice,” the team noted on social media.
Poissant will be counted upon again for his leadership and guidance of new players, especially the younger ones as they adapt to senior A hockey.
