Senior A hockey playoffs see Pipers bow out, Rockets advance
North Dundas Rockets on to second round of EOSHL playoffs
The North Dundas Rockets are skating into the second round of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL, senior ‘A’) after a two-game romp over the Glengarry Pipers.
The Chesterville-based Rockets, who lost just one during the 20-game regular season, dropped the puck on the 2025 playoffs on home ice February 15, when they spanked the Pipers 11-5. Game two, which ended Glengarry season, went into the books as a forfeit. 1-0.

The South Stormont Mustangs, who formerly called Maxville home, tangled with the South Grenville Rangers in the opening playoff round, winning in two games on scores of 8-3 and 8-4.
In the Capital Division of the Eastern Conference, Manotick and Arnprior were the first-round victors.
The league’s playoff format has division teams cross over to create the second-round match-ups. Thus, the Mariners are pitted against the Mustangs, while the Rockets meet the Rivermen.
North Dundas got off to a stellar start last night in game one of their series, pasting the team from Arnprior 12-2.
Meanwhile, the other series has two games in the books, with South Stormont having lost both, on scores of 5-2 and 6-2.
The series are best-of-five affairs.
Game two of the Rockets-Rivermen series is booked for February 15 at the Chesterville Arena, with the opening puck drop around 7:30 p.m. The third tilt is slated for March 1 in Arnprior.
Also on March 1, the Mustangs will travel to Manotick for a 7:30 start, looking to stave off elimination. Should the South Stormont side prevail, game 4 will take place in Long Sault on March 2, beginning at 4 p.m.
Playoff round-one winners in the Western Conference were the Deseronto Bulldogs 2-0 over the Lindsay Barncats, the Madawaska Valley Wolves 2-1 over the Tweed Oil Kings, the Smiths Falls Rideaus 2-0 over the Frontenac Phantoms, and the Gananoque Islanders 2-1 over the Westport Lumberjacks.
