Senior 'A' Mustangs relocate from Maxville to Long Sault for 2022-23 season
Stangs announce schedule for home games
The Maxville Mustangs of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (senior ‘A’) are no more as the club is set to play out of the arena in Long Sault for the 2022-23 season, citing “uncertainty with the future of the Maxville Sports Complex.”
The club will now be known as the South Stormont Mustangs, and they have an updated logo.

The EOSHL held its draft in June, after which the Mustangs announced several signings:
🏒First-round pick Isaac Barr (forward, age 24, from Cornwall, last played for Portage College of the ACAC recording 14 points in 14 games)
🏒Second-round pick Konnor MacCormick (forward, 23, Ingleside, University of Ottawa of U-Sports, 2 points in 11 games)
🏒Third-round pick Noah Konink (defenceman, 23, Long Sault, 31 points in 35 games with the EOJHL Char-Lan Rebels in the 2019-20 season)
🏒Fourth-round pick Kale MacCormick (forward, 20, Ingleside, 4 points in 24 games with the CCHL Cornwall Colts in the 2021-22 season)
Brandon Gilmour is pegged to captain the squad for the 2022-23 season. The 29-year-old forward from Kingston nabbed 16 points in 13 games with the Mustangs last winter. Alternate captains will be Derrick Ryan (38, Fournier, 6 points in 11 games with the EOSHL Cornwall Prowlers) and Calvin Wojtaszak (26, Michigan, signed with Maxville last season but didn’t play).
The team’s home-ice schedule is slated to open on September 24 as part of a 20-game campaign.
The Mustangs compete in the EOSHL, which features 12 teams divided into two divisions. South Stormont plays in the east division, which includes the Glengarry Pipers (Alexandria), the Cornwall Prowlers, the defending champion North Dundas Rockets (Chesterville), the South Grenville Rangers (Cardinal), and the Bytown Royals (Kanata).
