Weather-related postponements affect Eastern Ontario hockey teams
Winter storm with freezing rain ices scheduled games in CCHL, EOJHL, NCJHL
The lone game in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (senior A) is a go, but scheduled action in the CCHL (junior A), EOJHL (junior B), and NCJHL (junior C) has been postponed.
In The Central Canada Hockey League, the postponements affect games slated for Carleton Place, Navan, Smiths Falls, and Pembroke. Of local teams, just the Hawkesbury Hawks are impacted as they were scheduled to travel to Navan.
Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League games shelved today affect six teams, none based in Glengarry. The Casselman Vikings will have their game in Richmond re-scheduled to a later date.
Four games have also been postponed in the NCJHL, including action booked for St. Isidore and Morrisburg.
Meanwhile, in senior A hockey, the game in Tweed, featuring the Oil Kings versus the Deseronto Bulldogs, is currently on the ice this afternoon.
The CCHL and EOJHL are due to freezing rain being experienced in the region and the winter storm warning issued by Environment Canada, which forecasts heavy snow this evening.
